Whitelist

A whitelist is a list of items that have explicit access to a resource and/or granted special privileges.  The opposite of a whitelist is a  blacklist which is a list of items that are denied access to a resource.

In the context of emails, a whitelist is a list of email addresses and domains that are regarded as safe. Emails received from this list are exempt from spam filtering rules. This list is also called the Trusted Senders list.
